Ingredients:
For the Chicken Marinade:
500g boneless chicken thighs (sliced)
3 tbsp plain yogurt
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp turmeric
½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
½ tsp cinnamon
2 cloves garlic (minced)
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt & black pepper to taste
For the Wraps:
4 flatbreads or pita bread
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tomato (sliced)
½ red onion (thinly sliced)
½ cup pickles (optional)
For the Garlic Sauce:
½ cup Greek yogurt or mayonnaise
1 tbsp lemon juice
1 clove garlic (minced)
Salt to taste
Instructions:
1. Marinate the Chicken – In a bowl, mix all marinade ingredients. Add the chicken, coat well, and let it marinate for at least 1 hour (or overnight for better flavor).
2. Cook the Chicken – Heat a pan or grill over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-8 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked. Let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
3. Prepare the Garlic Sauce – In a small bowl, mix yogurt (or mayonnaise), lemon juice, minced garlic, and salt.
4. Assemble the Wraps – Warm the flatbreads, spread a spoonful of garlic sauce, and add lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles. Place the sliced chicken on top and drizzle with more sauce.
5. Wrap and Serve – Fold the wrap tightly and serve warm with extra sauce on the side.
Tips:
For an authentic touch, grill the chicken over an open flame for a smoky flavor.
Swap chicken with beef or lamb for variety.
Serve with fries or a side of hummus for a complete meal.
